Firefighters say there's a bomb in Stuyvesant High School in Battery Park City. They're redoubling the evacuation there now.
I sent out email to a long list of people letting them know █████ and I are okay and asking them to check in if they live in the area. Getting a lot of responses, and we're sharing lists of those safe. Thank God for the internet.
The second tower just collapsed. The entire southern end of Manhattan is wreathed in a cloud of dust. We watched a fireman on television throw his helmet against the curb in disgust. From street level, the cameras watched the giant cloud of smoke advance up the street while people ran.
We're okay for now. Numb and shaken and terrified and hollow, but okay. Given up trying to get hold of friends and make sure they're okay, not wanting to contribute to the logjam on the phone lines. We just hope they check in here and let
