Another nice writerly thing this week—I received my contributor's copies of the upcoming April 2002 issue of Realms of Fantasy, which contains my short story "The Veil Beyond the Veil." This is a story I'm very proud of, and I've been looking forward to seeing it in print for quite a while. The layout and typography on the story are beautiful, as usual, and while the illustration didn't bowl me over at first, it's definitely growing on me. I like it better each time I look at it, and the artist did have a difficult series of vignettes to work with.

Anyway, Realms is a bimonthly title, so the April issue should be available on newsstands at the end of this month or the beginning of February. Watch for it! There are also stories by a whole mess of terrific writers, including Richard Parks, James Patrick Kelly, Katya Reimann, and Bruce Holland Rogers. Good company.
