Well, Ms. Editor did not get her presentation together in time to put Missionary Man on the agenda at last week's editorial meeting. Her next opportunity will be October 15th—which means two more weeks of waiting on tenterhooks before we get some vague sense of the book's possible future.
I suspect sometimes it's easier not to know what's going on behind the scenes.
