Well, Ms. Editor did not get her presentation together in time to put Missionary Man on the agenda at last week's editorial meeting. Her next opportunity will be October 15^th—which means two more weeks of waiting on tenterhooks before we get some vague sense of the book's possible future.

I suspect sometimes it's easier not to know what's going on behind the scenes.
