I posted several weeks ago about my agent's query to small press Four Walls Eight Windows being rejected. She forwarded the relevant emails to me, but upon reading the exchange I wasn't convinced that John Oakes of 4W8W had been given a complete description of the book. So, never one to leave well enough alone, I dropped him an email to clarify for him that my book was primarily a young Mormon's adventure story, and only secondarily a critical study of Mormonism. (Apparently 4W8W already has a critical study of Mormonism on their upcoming list and don't need another one. Bad timing again!)
Anyway, a month went by and then I heard back from Mr. Oakes. It was a very polite email note. He thanked me for my persistence but reported that 4W8W would still likely not be interested in Missionary Man.
It's still a rejection, but at least I feel like it's a solid rejection now, and not one based on possible misinformation.
