Two items this time around, one writing- but not book-related, the other neither writing- nor book-related.
First, my novelette "Dance of the Yellow-Breasted Luddites" has made the preliminary ballot for this year's Nebula Awards, selected by the Science Fiction Writers of America. SFWA members will vote on the preliminary ballot later this winter, narrowing the contenders in each category down to five works which will then appear on the final ballot. In the novelette category—for short fiction between 7,500 and 17,500 words in length—there are nine works on the ballot, so you can calculate my chances from that.
"Dance of the Yellow-Breasted Luddites" appears in the anthology Vanishing Acts, a collection of science fiction stories about endangered species, edited by Ellen Datlow.
Second, my wedding with █████ ███████ will appear on the Travel Channel series "Two for Las Vegas" this week at the following times:
Tue 15 Jan 2002, 1:00 pm
Tue 15 Jan 2002, 7:00 pm
Wed 16 Jan 2002, 2:00 am (late night 15 Jan)
Thu 17 Jan 2002, 1:30 pm
That's Eastern Standard Time, so check your local listings before tuning in. For up-to-date schedule info, click here.
Maybe there'll be some actual book-related news to report next time around.
